1 thing preventing ‘healthy-er U’
Well many of yous would have guessed it straightaway- its You- yourself.
Honestly, (after becoming adult) it took me 30 years to realize this!
Life would have been much better, different had I known this earlier!
But no regrets! Atleast I am sharing with you what I learnt, so you don’t have to waste 30 years of your life.
Health is hard work:
Becoming and staying healthy needs discipline, commitment.
The more we acknowledge and accept it willingly, easier it will become.
It’s easy, convenient to jump in drive-in and grab fast food than buy meat & veggies and prepare something at home.
It’s tempting to watch TV after coming from work than to go for walk.
It’s normal to stay cozy in bed than meditate in morning.
We often hear excuse- I wish to be healthy, but I don’t have time.
I learnt it hard way, that you can not find time- but…
….You have to MAKE time.
Finding time will never give you time.
Make time for all those things that matter for your physical and mental health.
These could be regular walking, meditation, gardening, spending time with family- anything that you think is important for your health, but you tell yourself that you don’t have time for doing that thing.
‘Organizing’ is the key
While transitioning to Ayurvedic lifestyle, I always had excuse that my morning daily routines are taking too much of my time time and I don’t have time to prepare my lunch. So I would resort to leftovers or fruits as lunch- not ideal.
So I started to organize- keep all the preparation for my next day lunch ready each night. Then it was easy to cook it next morning while doing daily routines.
Simple trick- but our habits just don’t allow us to change.
Let go of the rock
Imagine (this is for analogy only) someone sinking and they are holding the rock, clinging to the rock. All they have to do to float and get to surface, is to let go of the rock.
Our cultivated anti-health habits are like rock.
We have the control to let go of that rock which is sinking us in unhealthy waters. All we have to do is let-go of these habits, recognizing what needs to change one-by-one and replacing them with healthy habits.
And then keep it on till we tilt the balance in favor of health.
I sincerely hope these 4 steps will help you achieve the health you are after.
