The science behind Kizhi massage

Heat Therapy

Heated kizhi dilates blood vessels which boost circulation and send nutrient-rich oxygen flowing to your tissues. The warmth loosens tight muscles, eases stiff joints, and provides the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, for a major pain-relieving effect.

Herbal Synergy

To name a few of many herbs used, Kizhi is prepared with personalized blend of potent ingredients such as ginger and turmeric to counter inflammation, tulsi to boost your immune system and fresh lime to cleanse the toxins.

Marma Stimulation

The marma massage boosts Prana flow, it’s like tapping into body’s own pharmacy.

Lymphatic Drainage

The lymph system responsible for flushing out toxins, gets support which leads to reduced swelling and a cleaner internal body environment.

Psychological Impact

Warm and fragrant herbal poultices are deeply soothing. Sensory stimulation lowers cortisol and releases neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, changing brain chemistry. This herbal massage reduces anxiety and improves sleep.

Treatment Process

A lot of on-time preparation is involved in Kizhi.

The Ayurvedic herbs are cooked with coconut powder, lemon, and infused with herbal oils to enhance the action of these herbs. They are then tied into small bundles with cotton cloths. The tied poultices are then heated in herbal-infused oils to enhance their potency and therapeutic effects. of eliminating deep seated toxins from tissues or nourishment to be absorbed by the tissues.

The heated kizhis are pressed, tapped, and rolled over specific areas of the body, applying varying degrees of pressure and rhythmic, sometimes vigorous movements. The focus is on joints and stiff muscles, to tap deeper into nerves and ligaments. The combination of heat, herbal ingredients, and skilled manipulation stimulates the blood flow, opens up energy channels, promotes lymphatic flow, and balances the doshas. The muscles are easily softened and relieved of pain and stiffness caused by lactic acid built-up making Kizhi especially effective.

There would be soaking in a lots of therapeutic oil.

After-care

  • You can drive home after cup of warm water or herbal tea.

  • It is advised to not to have a shower for at least an hour to gain the full benefits of the massage.

  • As the medicated oil and specific strokes drives the toxins from the deeper connective tissues back to the gastrointestinal tract for proper elimination, is advised to hydrate well with warm water and take some rest after the massage.

  • Avoid long travel and busy shopping centers.

  • Avoid going to beach and extreme weather conditions.

  • Do not lie in the sun with the oil on afterwards.
